The Shadow Illusion Kevin Durant and Russell

Thunder co-stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook got into a shouting match on the bench and needed to be separated during their game against the Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Last year, they teamed up to reach the Western Conference Finals. Durant and coach Scott Brooks both downplayed the incident, saying the team was frustrated about
letting the Grizzlies whittle their 11-point lead down to three.

Westbrook, the newspaper reported, got upset when with 3½ minutes left in the second quarter, he drove into the lane and passed the ball out to Thabo Sefolosha in the corner. Whether overblown or not, their relationship doesn't seem quite perfect. After the game, everything seemed hunky-dory, with Durant telling NBA TV that "Russell makes me so much better."

Durant, Sefolosha and Kendrick Perkins attempted to reason with the sour young man at the free-throw line shortly after, but a timeout one minute later led to more fighting. Will Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook Fight Lead to a Trade? Cooler heads ultimately prevailed, with Durant and Westbrook leading OKC to victory while appearing to have smoothed things over between themselves.
